“For I received from the Lord that what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he brake it and said, “This is my body which is for you; do this in remembrance of me. In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “ This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me. For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes."” 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 (NIV)

The Lord’s Supper / Communion
The Liverpool Church believes in regularly partaking of the Lord’s Supper / Communion, in accordance with Jesus’ instructions (1 Co 11:26) and does so as an annual commemoration of the Last Supper at Easter and as an ongoing witness to the suffering and death of our Lord and Saviour throughout the year.
The Lord’s Supper also announces the fact that Jesus will return (1 Cor 11:26).
The Liverpool Church offers a Lord’s Supper service (as part of its normal worship service) every three months, normally on the first Saturday in the month, though this can change
However, there is no requirement to take the bread and wine.
“Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?”
1 Corinthians 10:16 (NIV)
